History

Benet Academy tennis began in 1973 (girls) and 1975 (boys) on three courts painted on the parking lot next to the gym (Alumni Gym). Since that time, the program has continually grown and improved into a top program in the area. May players have graced the courts, first in that parking lot, and then on four courts built north of Benet Hall. The first individual state champion at Benet was a tennis player. Jane Jaros won the IHSA state singles championship in 1980. Several other players have medalled at the state tournament and several teams have finished high (girls were 4th in 1980 and the boys were 7th in 2004).

Below are some of the highlights over the years, including conference and sectional champion teams and individuals.
